And so we two, on what we feared might be the last best day of the season went down to the river … and thus we have a second perspective.
It’s always interesting to see how two people photograph the same location. I look at form and shape; Garry seems more drawn to reflections, color and shadow. We are in the same place but see different things. Even when we frame the same scene, the results always look quite different.
Good eyes, two separate visions.

I’ve always seen pictures in my mind when looking at landscapes, etc. During my working years, I would frequently see scenes as backdrops for “stand ups”. I’m due for some welcomed instruction because I didn’t intend to include my shadow in those recent photos. Still, it’s a nice touch. Ya think, Probie?

Many great pictures are at least partially “happy accidents.”

He worked for many years in film. Still photography is relatively new to him. I fhink when he masters some of the technical stuff, he’ll put me to shame

Vision & composition are a personal thing. When I sent the wharf photos I took this week to the wharf owner he couldn’t believe it was his wharf. He said he had to go out to the same spot to prove it to himself. That’s one reason why I love photography. I have my own vision that has been developed and finely tuned over 40 years. I like how I compose and so do others.
I love your feel for detail and texture. I can imagine myself hiking to the spots you portray. Thanks for sharing.

I love shooting with other photographers. It’s fascinating to me how differenty each of us see the same things. And fun, too!
