Weekly Photo Challenge: Unique – Bright As Sunshine

This sunflower was standing by itself on a busy road in a parking lot. Growing on a tiny piece of dirt by the foot of the restaurant’s sign. Just a single sunflower, alone, surrounded by cars and asphalt.

  1. I love it when that happens. I love when you discover something beautiful by just looking down at your feet, something overlooked by most who walk by. It’s a beautiful flower and I thank you for sharing that beauty. – Bob

        1. I guess you don’t get sunflowers on the west coast? They are gigantic. Some of them grow to be 10 or 12 feet high. The bees adore them, so as a photographer, you have to be careful you don’t get stung. They are hard to grow unless you have full sun from morning till night, but if you do, they’ll grow like weeds. A lot of people grow a few of them. You plant a bunch and you are lucky if you get a couple. They are always very impressive. They don’t call them sunflowers for nothing 🙂
