He’s an old friend. Slowly rusting away in a green field. There are worse possible fates, for men and for old trucks.

We all need love 🙂 I think I also need flu medicine and a new pair of lungs. And the Red Sox need to get it together. Sheesh.

This truck has quite an interesting face. do you see it? Windshield eyes, hood nose and grill smile. With a little touching up it could be in the Disney movie – Cars or Trucks, or whatever is out now.

I appreciate the honor you pay me. YOU make this worthwhile. WordPress is our platform. We don’t need their approval or validation. We want it because we all want approval, all crave OFFICIAL recognition. But need it? I have 100,000+ hits that say I’m doing something right, not to mention readers/lookers like you who actively tell me. You can’t give me an official badge, but who is to say that your opinion is not as valid — maybe MORE valid — than theirs? So thank you. Kind words from followers, readers, lookers … you are the people I’m reaching out to. I wouldn’t object to an official badge of recognition — but unless it comes with a big $$$ prize too, well … it’s just a badge, right? I could make one for myself, the UnFreshly UnPressed Award 🙂 I may yet do it and give it to all the people who deserve a badge and don’t have one!

Yes. I think of him as an old friend. We’ve also got an old fire engine (Uxbridge #2) that’s living out his retirement in a field across from the post office. I most visit him again soon.

Sounds great that these two old vehicles keep each other company, the best of friends.

Yes, it would be great, but they aren’t together. Two fields, about a mile apart. That’s the country for ya.

at least they have a nice quiet place to rest.

Yes. And visitors, even fans. I’m not the only one who goes to say hello. All the guys from the fire house visit Old Number 2 … and the farmer and his kids always say hi to the old truck as the take the cows in and out of the field by the creek.

Sounds like they’ll be loved for generations to come, awesome.

As long as Uxbridge stays a sleepy, exurban village. If we ever get “discovered,” all bets are off.

Lets hope things stay sleepy, having a few secrets in a village makes things all that more special who live there.

Thanks. I think the farmer who owned him couldn’t make this old guy drive anymore, so he granted him honorable retirement next to the cow’s pasture. The cows seem to like him 🙂
