I hoped — a little — that we weren’t going to get snow. But of course, we did. Not a lot. An inch, maybe two. A dusting, really — at least for this area. The real snows will come, I’m sure but this was a warning shot across our bow, so to speak. Winter’s heralding his imminent arrival. Pretty white flakes. Pretty trees. We never did get the leaves off the deck. They will be mulch by spring. I’ve included my first footsteps in this first snow. Guess who got new Emus this year?

If ONLY I could send you ours. We have more than enough. It snowed yesterday all day, then snowed all night too. Not a big accumulation … but a warning. I could be very happy with no snow. It’s pretty, but cold. Slippery. Wet. And then it becomes mud.

The reason you didn’t get much is because it all came down here! We got two inches Sunday and another 3 today. Arrrggh!

Oh, I have no doubt you’ll get your fair share of snow later on! 😉

We always do. We tend to get a break on the snows that come up the coast, but we get buried by the ones that come in from the west.
