Two paths before you, one paved and smooth, the destination known. The other is rough, the destination unclear.
You stand, you look, you ponder. Then … you must choose. Which of the two paths will take you where you want to go?
Where do you want to go?

I take the road less travelled.

It’s more poetic than the paved one, even if it doesn’t go anywhere except a goat pen in a neighboring farm 🙂

Thanks. It’s the only road I’ve seen that splits exactly at its beginning into a paved and unpaved road, side by side.

You’re welcome. Those sightings are pieces in literature that we think only exist there. Absolutely surreal. Nicely done.

Yes, our favorite New England poet. He must have had a road just like this near his home. It is a very New England sort of road.

Since I’d probably be at that particular spot on my bike, definitely the rough one.
In life? Down whichever one leads to the more fun restaurant.

Go with the road if you want a decent meal. Those dirt roads always end up at someone’s farm or cow pasture 🙂 I’ve met some charming goats, cows and pigs, though.

Destination unclear equals a path that is definitely more interesting. As Garry already stated: I feel confident.

But, just to play Devil’s advocate, not necessarily going where YOU want to go. It depends on (a) how much you DON’T want to travel the paved road, and (b) whether or not you prefer adventure to knowing where you’re going 🙂

What would life be without these wonderful little adventures? 🙂

Life would be predictable. Or at least more predictable. No matter what we choose, we never know what’s around the bend 🙂

I chose the road that was unclear but I felt very confident about taking chances.

Me too, but it wasn’t confidence. More like a “Devil take the hindmost” attitude towards the future.
