And this is how the birds live through the winter … by eating the berries that cling to naked branches and twigs. Winter berries … the last remnants of summer.

SERENDIPITY: SEEKING INTELLIGENT LIFE ON EARTH 
I haven’t seen a bird in my yard since summer, but I reckon part of that has to do with the dogs. And the fact that we don’t feed birds (that’s expensive!) and there are no berry-producing trees/bushes on the property. And even though those branches are bare, I see the green sneaking in all around. Keep posting pictures that make me think of Spring, and I just might make it through it!

We haven’t seen or heard birds either. I think the cold has taken a very heavy toll. I hope they return with spring.
