Down the road there’s a big old wooden barn. It dates back to the mid 1700s, but it has been well maintained and recently restored. Inside and out, it’s a real beauty. Goats live in it during the coldest months of the winter along with one big Percheron.

Great old barn! I love pictures like this one. Note, loving that you are trying to bring Spring back to us with your header image. 😀

If wishing would bring spring sooner, I’m for it!

I’ve been inside the barn.
But I failed to make any hay.

I love when old buildings are restored instead of being torn down! It connects the past to the present.

It’s one of the good things about New England. We try to hang on to our historic places … unlike NY where they just knock them down and build something new and shiny.

I would love to walk around that place, even sit inside and ponder the daily activities centuries ago and touch the wood as if to make a connection with the scenes in my imagination.

Not everyone likes barn smells, but those of us who have happy memories of barns and horses and other friends, it’s a good, earthy, warm smell. I love it. It brings up all the memories of trail rides and cleaning tack, hanging out with the horses and telling them all my stories. They were great listeners.

My barn memories are of my grandma’s farm in Wisconsin, her barn housed dairy cows rather than horses, I still love those smells! 😀

Believe our dogs work diligently on replication of the barn smells..

It’s just around the corner … I was lucky the owner was home and let me in. I was trespassing big time😏

I took these 5 years ago on a much older version of a Canon Powershot, though it was top of the line for its day. I always think I’m going to get back there again, take some more … but right after that, a lot of my physical self went downhill and I just don’t get out the way I used to. I do pass the old barn everytime we go into town and she is still beautiful, right there along the road.
