The ground under your feet in a woods is full of interesting colors and textures … and sometimes creatures. Although I glance down, usually to avoid tripping over something, I forget to really look — with a photographer’s eye. This is one time when I did look … and it was beautiful.
I love those type of mushrooms/fungi. I have good memories from being out in the back 40 with family and running across them. Great photo!

Those tree funguses are indeed beautiful. I was surprised I’d been so often in the woods and never really LOOKED at them 🙂

Thank you! I never know the name of any of the plants — well, a few\. I keep looking for a book like my bird books, but for wildflowers, weeds and fungus.
We have some wonderful wildflowers … some quite rare. Others, common but no one knows their name, just “those little purple flowers that grow everywhere.”

It’s nice that you can actually see the forest floor again after all the snow!

For how long is the question. But at the moment, it’s lovely. Not too cold and very clear. May it stay this way!
