Great texture given the entire frame from the water. Clever shot! So topical too as so many homes in UK are suffering a bit too much water from local flooding.

And topical for another reason too. Because the beautiful pattern on the water is oil spilled from boat engines. You’ll see that at every marina in the world.

As long as we use fossil fuel … there’s always at least some degree of pollution. No avoiding it. It’s one of the things I loved best about sailing … how miniscule was the impact of our tiny craft on the environment. Of course not having a real engine had other perils but it was nice to be on the side of nature, at least for a few hours.
