It’s beautiful! And makes beautiful music, as well. Do Garry or you play? (sorry if the answer to that is listed above somewhere…I may be having a blonde moment!) 😀
A very good question, actually. I used to play, but didn’t have a dulcimer for a lot of years. I had this built for me and fully intended to go back to playing, but like many thing I plan to do, it didn’t work out. The arthritis in my hands made it too painful. Recently, I gave the dulcimer to a woman who really plays it, could never afford it herself, and treasures it. Keeping it forever in its protective case was not serving anyone’s interests, so it moved on. It was an exceptionally beautiful instrument … and had a wonderful sound.
Beautiful!

It’s also an amazing performance on a dulcimer which is rarely played as a solo instrument. I was impressed.

I wasn’t kidding. It really is a haunting sound, not like any other stringed instrument.

My father-in-law made a couple of dulcimers that sat on a table and he loved to play at family gatherings. Wonderful memory.

How wonderful to have someone who can not only make music, but make the instrument. A great memory and a fine legacy!
