I loved the line in a recent flick we saw. “..the poet had it wrong. February is the cruelest month”.

bewitching photograph. looks full of possibilities. the trees are lined up with such a great rhythm and the water looks silver.

Thank you. There are a lot of wooded area where trees line up in neat rows. Obviously not planted by people, but for whatever reason, nature did it. It’s always interesting to photograph. You see it most commonly in pine forest, but this area along the river was very “organized.”

never thought of that distinction between what nature and what man planted. Has me looking at wooded areas anew!

Most of our gardens try to copy nature. I used to edit the American Garden Guild and it was all about making our gardens look wild, as if nature had done it. All our best ideas come from wild places π
