Daily Prompt: Never Surrender

Like a lichen on a rock, I cling. Like the sun, I rise. Like the earth, I renew.

I’ll be back.

Friday’s the big day, though I’ll be in the hospital as of Thursday for cardiac catheterization. Hopefully they won’t find anymore stuff that needs repairing. Garry will try to send updates, but he’s going to be busy and tired, so be gentle with him. This is hard for him too.

Stubbornly, determinedly, I’ll come back. Until then, I will miss you.

  1. I will be thinking of you and hoping all goes smoothly. Hang onto the knowledge that every day will be better and that we are waiting for your return.

      1. Yes, Marilyn, there is a lot to be said for boring – especially where our health is concerned. I really value my intelligence so I don’t want that to go, but I also don’t want my mind to become boring. 😀

        1. Mental stimulation is easy to find. I’m never bored. But I think I’ll skip the whole “getting cut open by surgeons” think if I can. It is necessary, but I don’t think it’s going to be particularly mentally stimulating.

      1. Here’s to successful surgery and comfortable recovery. Surely, you know we’re all counting on you!! And, once again, Happy Birthday — to My Fair Lady!!!

  2. Beautiful photo of a sunset… It is setting down, but it will rise up again. 😉 I wish you all well even though I am here for the first time.

            1. It is strange, I think of karma as something that gets back to you if you’ve done something bad. Like, when someone is extremly rude, evil or nasty, I think… “Everything comes back.” That is karma to me 🙂

  3. I will have my candle lit for you on Friday and am hoping for you…good pain medications, lots of chocolate pudding, easy healing, and tender times between you and your loved ones. I will definitely miss you being gone, but I will be here supporting Garry and Rich. And Garry, if you need help figuring out a techie thing, you should email me and ask because it’s possible I know. Much love to you both!

  4. We will continue to read and enjoy and await your return. Remember, I have keys to the vault so there will always be your items to enjoy here. Get well fast or who knows what trouble we might start here! 😉

  5. Godspeed, Marilyn, and God-relaxation, too. May it go easily and well for you and may you always have love at your side. As Marrik would say, viyaadstametet (thanks and thank God for you.)

    1. Got a few MORE days to wait. The surgeon has two emergency surgeries Friday, so I got booted to Tuesday with tests on Monday. No matter. My life is on hold anyway. I have nothing but time, right? Right!!

          1. I’ll be thinking of you from Oaxaca, Mexico – my partner and I are off on Tuesday night to visit Elsa of ‘My Lunch with Elsa’ fame in a house she’s rented there for two months. The cost for 7 days is less than the price of one night in most hotels at our latitude.

““Let us do something, while we have the chance! It is not every day that we are needed. Not indeed that we personally are needed. Others would meet the case equally well, if not better. To all mankind they were addressed, those cries for help still ringing in our ears! But at this place, at this moment of time, all humankind is us, whether we like it or not. Let us make the most of it, before it is too late!” -Samuel Beckett, Waiting for Godot

I hope your surgeons go on soon to the great adventure of fixing you up.

    1. I’m getting there. This one is not a sprint. More like a marathon! And I could get into an adventure. I love new experiences. It’s just been a while since I’ve been up to doing much!! I’ll be ready 🙂
