Daily Prompt: Why Can’t We Be Friends?

– – – – –

We can’t be friends because you won’t like me. Really. Count on it.

Marilyn as photographer

Even if I like you, more than likely won’t return the feeling. I talk too much. My tongue is sharp. If you say dumb things, I will snort derisively. I will not take you seriously if you don’t know any history and don’t read books.

If you take photographs with trash cans in the background, I will not admire them, even if the subject is your most beloved grandchild. She/he would look better — guaranteed — without the trash cans. Unless you are making some kind of artistic statement about grandchildren and trash and I sincerely hope you are not.

I am not everyone’s cuppa tea. Sometimes, I’m not even my own cuppa tea. Actually, I’m not all that fond of tea, except for green tea ordered with Japanese food.

This probably makes me a bad person. Screw it.

Coffee anyone?

  1. great post, we all have ideas in our minds, but i guess, it’s opening the heart and the mind that changes everything, and in a world short on trust, everything is dimmed, enjoy the coffee, amen

  2. I am sure we would hit it off wonderfully, you are just up my street. The only problem might be conversation. We both like talking, and there might be problems having a discussion. Perhaps we could use a stop watch. I give you 2-3 minuites (or more?) and you give me the same. At least we can write. Writing does not produce problems, you write yours and I write mine. Yes, we are a perfect match.

  3. You’re probably right, I wouldn’t like you much. However, I can be rather abrasive at time too and enjoy it tremendously. Let’s have coffee and talk crap, or history. Whatever.

  4. I’m not overly fond of most of my friends, but I love them to death. Sometimes they don’t like me much either, but they’ll walk through fire for me. The ties that bind are odd ones indeed. ^_^

I take my coffee black, thanks.

  5. I was told today by my 82 year old senior coffee friend that I am too negative a person. I agree I’m negative because this world, this government these people around me all deserve to be blown to hell. Let’s start over, kill them all and let God sort them out. Does that make me a negative person? If so you’ve just made my top 10 list! LOL
