You could tell this was down by Cape Cod by the weathered wood siding on the little houses and barn, as well as the old — but still sturdy cedar pickets.
I think these were originally cabins for hired help, probably ground workers. The barns are clearly not for cows. Probably to stable a couple of horses and maybe store a small rig.
Today, they are “out buildings,” decorative and useful for storage.

I love the final picture of that barn Marilyn. I would love to have a crack at photographing that, inside & out.

If I hadn’t been at a party, I’d have been more time into the photography, but I wanted to actually be part of the people for once, rather than that woman with the camera. I hope I’ll get back there and be able to do some more.

My Gran had a couple of these in her garden. Although when I saw them they were just full of junk, there were obvious signs that they were once habitable, at least as somewhere to go and relax and eat lunch, remnants of curtains and such.

They are tiny and usually wind up full of junk, but they were really little houses once. Gardeners, grooms … a little private space for a worker to live so he didn’t have to spend his tiny salary on housing.
