Flowers from a local garden built to resemble a medieval garden, divided into sections by gravel pathways. It has a stone wall around it, low enough to easily step over or sit on it, like a bench. It has a small stone fountain in the center.

This is the kind of beauty that transcends all that is petty in the world, am I right?

It’s also a very lovely touch at a place that needs that bit of extra beauty. It has given me many moments of peace when life was in turmoil.

We all need a place like that. I’m glad you have a peaceful sanctuary!

I wish it were in my own yard 🙂 But then, I’d have to take care of it so maybe it’s better to just visit.

Well, that IS true and then you’d be worried about taking care of it and it’s very stressful and you’d be pulling weeds and not enjoying it.

And this is NOT my year for gardening!

There’s something restorative for the earth in laying fallow for a time…

That is heartening because the garden is a serious disaster now that the early summer flowers have died back. And it’s a total mess of barbed wire-quality thorns. Anyone for Kevlar?

We have a parched earth kind of garden now with no rain for months except what we just got-not enough to save in buckets even, so I say get in there and pick some weeds. But wear sturdy gloves!

It’s like barbed wire in our garden now … the roses have really gone nuts and you need body armor.

Grass is always greener…my plants are so sad cos there’s no water and now we have water police in addition to sky high water bills. I’ve been saving dishwater and hand watering. Pathetic!

It is a peaceful place and unexpected, consider its location in what would have been the parking lot.

Not really. Around here, doctor’s offices and hospitals maintain beautiful gardens I think to try to make patients relax a bit. We are ALWAYS nervous when you are scheduled and the flowers help.
