Share Your World – 2014 Week 38

If you could be a tree or plant, what would you be?

aloe veraI think I’d like to be something useful. Maybe aloe vera. Good for skin, burns, hair. A very useful plant and it smells good too.

If you could have a servant come to your house every day for one hour, what would you have them do?

Cook dinner!

If you could have an endless supply of any food, what would you get?

Salmon, probably. It’s my favorite fish. I’d honestly prefer shrimp, but my cholesterol wouldn’t hear of it.

What was one of your first moneymaking jobs (other than babysitting or newspaper delivery)?

I washed poodles. By the time I was done with that job, I never wanted to bathe another animal of any kind. But I have. I have scrubbed many, many dogs, cats and other critters over many decades. But I never use poodle shampoo or paint their nails some weird color.

  1. Oak. An acorn.
    Doritos?? WTH.
Baling Hay. They paid me a man’s wage … but I could barely lift the bales.

  2. People can get too carried away, in my opinion, with their pets. 🙂 I love your spice photo. Thanks for sharing.

    • True, but if you own a poodle, grooming is a big deal. They are a real challenge and look like hedges if you don’t groom them. The nail polish is a bit much, though. I’m sure it embarrasses the dogs, too.

  3. It would be nice to have someone cooking your salmon while you’re washing the poodles.

    • No poodles here! We have proper dogs. Terriers and shaggy, smelly beasts 🙂

      • Darnit Mrs. A! Let’s watch our mouth, please. Ahem…. “proper” dogs? Where’s that damned “dislike” button? 😀

        • I think all dogs, even those who suffer from really weird haircuts, are great. Actually I like poodles especially big ones. There are some poodle owners I could do without. Garry just can’t get his head behind the show cuts. I point out to him that underneath those weird “dos” are real dogs who used to be water retrievers and are still smart as the devil. You can take them hunting or swimming. I read Pantaloon about a thousand times when I was a kid. But some of the owners should only be allowed to have stuffed animals. They treat those poor little doggies like wind up toys. No dog should be forced to endure toenail polish. The smell alone …

  4. Poodle-washer! 😀 Salmon and shrimp are also my two favorites. I’m sure not as tasty as yours, so close to the water, but you can still find some pretty decent stuff around here, sometimes.

  5. Enjoyed this post. Cool pics.

  6. Salmon is also my favorite fish and I’d love to have someone cook dinner for me too. But I never gave baths to poodles, unless four kids counts.
