BROADCASTING HALL OF FAME – SEPTEMBER 2013

Achievement — Have you just run 26.2 miles, finished a long-term project, or met a personal goal? This week, show us an achievement.

My best achievement seems to be staying alive, but my husband, Garry Armstrong, has won a few awards in his day, Most recently — and memorably — was his induction into the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame last September 12, 2013.

It was a well-earned recognition for a lifetime of public service as a television news reporter and journalist.

A fantastic day!

  1. This week I garnered great personal satisfaction in seeing my photography student’s work published on the internet. I’m so proud of her I could pop. She’s a quick learner because she listens. I’d type that over with an exclamation point but you get my point. She has applied herself and the results show it. It’s been a good week!

      1. I’ve been teaching all my life. I taught thousands how to use an IBM personal computer. Again, one of my students went on to become an instructor and I was so proud. Teaching skills and passing on the gauntlet is an honorable calling.

  2. The day was special in many ways. My family was with me. My “Baby” Brother who has a very busy schedule — made the event with his arm in a sling recovering from rotator cuff surgery. Most of all — I had a few personal minutes with Chet Curtis, a fellow Hall of Fame inductee. Chet, a legendary New England newscaster, was dying of cancer. We laughed and cried together. It would be the last time I would see him. THANK YOU, Mrs. A. YOU were there! Thank you for posting!
