Cee’s Which Way Photo Challenge: 2014 #22

This challenge is dedicated to the paths, roads, rails and waterways by which we travel. We are a nation of roads. To our bones, we love our cars, love being in control of our travel.

Today, I celebrate roads and cars.

  2. Nice selection of photos, the last one being my favorite. I used to love to ride paths like the one you posted. I do miss my days with Magi. 😉

    • I miss horses hugely. I even like the smell of barns and paddocks. I can’t anymore, but every autumn, when I see paths like that … yup, I think “a horse, a crisp autumn morning, and no schedule. Life doesn’t get better than that!”

      • I told the kids when I die, to cremate me, and brush me into a horse’s coat. Morbid, huh? LOL

Such freedom! 🙂 Like you, the smell of manure rekindles thoughts of some mighty happy times.

  4. So many roads but I prefer the “roads less travelled”. We’re very fond of taking a country road just to find out where it goes.

    • I would have agreed with you until we spent most of our driving time this summer on country roads. HUNDRED OF MILES of country roads. They are beautiful … but it take a very long time to get where you are going … and if you are actually trying to get from point A to B and want to do it before dark, those roads begin to lose a lot of their charm. Just saying.

      • I can understand that. If you need to get from point A to point B and the journey is a long one the main road is usually the best one to take. If we are travelling between cities we do but if we’re just out for a drive we can be tempted by a scenic route. These days the long drive between Melbourne and Adelaide after we come off the overnight ferry is more tiring than it used to be especially for David. We don’t enjoy10-12 hours in the car now so next time we go that way we’ll be making an overnight stop somewhere.
