Share Your World – 2014 Week 48

What is your favorite toppings on pizza?

We eat a lot of pizza these days, which is funny because Garry didn’t used to like it much. Times have changed. Mostly, I prefer veggies. Mushrooms, onions, peppers. Extra tomatoes and a lot of cheese. I think Garry would prefer something more carnivorous, but he’s being nice to me (and our hearts!) these days 🙂

I want to learn more about …

Everything! History, science, art, literature … I love learning and with rare exceptions, everything is interesting. Moreover, my motto remains:

Knowledge is never a waste of time.

What are three places you have enjoyed visiting?

Loch Gill from Park Castle

Loch Gill from Park Castle

Jerusalem. Dublin. London. But to be fair, I’ve enjoyed pretty much every place I’ve ever visited, from the most obscure little towns in the middle of nowhere, to the biggest cities on Earth. Knowledge is never a waste of time … and travelling is always fun as long as you dwell on the adventure and not the hassles.

Do you prefer eating the frosting of the cake or the cupcake first?

I don’t like frosting. Too sweet. I usually scrape off frosting on pretty much everything. When I bake cakes, I put a little powdered sugar on them for decoration, but usually won’t ice them.

  1. I do love frosting and will forsake a cupcake after eating said frosting. Strange, I know. And pizza, the simpler the better, I’m with you. 🙂

    • Right now, a pizza would really work for me. I can’t seem to wake up at all. I just keep drowsing off. Oh well. It’s that kind of day. Icing is fine and I’ve been known to just eat icing. But if you eat the icing, you can’t taste the underlying cake … so it’s one, or the other, but not usually both 🙂

  2. Thanks Marilyn for sharing. I enjoyed reading your answers this week. 🙂

  3. My picky butt quit eating pizza early in my childhood for some reason I don’t even know. Almost every time we get some food brought into the break room at work for an incentive, it’s pizza… and after 30 years without pizza, I finally tried it again. Not bad, but not great… and I have no idea what toppings were even on it! I’m so unAmerican in my dislike of pizza…. hot dogs…. even apple pie!

    • When I was working, every time someone ordered in, it was pizza. After a while, no one wanted it. I’ve finally come back to it. It isn’t great, but it’s an easy meal when no one (read ME) feels like cooking!

  4. Lots of people I know remove the frosting.
    Loch Gill looks very tranquil.

    • Loch Gill, wherein lies the Isle of Innisfree, is absolutely perfect. Very peaceful, or at least it was in 1990. It was one of our favorite places. The Isle of Innisfree is tiny … maybe big enough for a couple of kids and a treehouse.

  5. Sharing is caring and you care…… Nice to know about your views on travel, well said KNOWLEDGE is never a waste of time.

    • Everything I’ve ever learned has come in useful at some place, time. At some job or other. It may have taken years before I saw the link, but eventually, everything has come into play. And I love traveling. I don’t do much of it any more, but when I could, it was always great, even when stuff went wrong.
