Late January. The woods, my Olympus PEN E-PL5. The shadows of the deck railing forming strips. Bright sun in woods … and a photography challenge.

All great shots – love that first one as I had to look twice!

I have about 9 versions of that shot and many of them look … I’m not sure what they look like, but not shadows. A trick of the light, but an interesting one.

The first one looks like painted on stripes, I had to look twice! 😀

It really is sunshine through the wood fence … but it looks painted, I agree.

I love the filters you used in the second photo. Great photos. 😀

That one is solarized. I don’t know if you would call it a filter. I think it classifies as a process. Back in the days of film, dark rooms, and paper prints, you solarized a picture by briefly opening the dark room door for like half a second, then closing it. We had to know at what point in the development process to give it a shot of light and could never predict exactly how it would come out. Now, we do it with software 🙂
It’s still impossible to know exactly how it will come out.

That is what I love about digital editing. So much fun without the cost of papers. 😀

I have heard people say they miss film. I do NOT miss film. The cost of film and developing was huge. I love being able to do it all on the computer!

You’re having a lot of fun with that camera, aren’t you?

Yes, I am. I’d be having more fun if I could stop coughing long enough to focus.

I noticed a major storm heading your way on the national forecast. That could provide you with some deep snow pictures you could capture with your new camera. Let us know how you fare with the upcoming weather.

I don’t know how major it is. It IS snowing, but it’s falling slowing and lightly. It’s supposed to snow through the day and night and it is, as snow always is, pretty. I’ll post some pictures, but it’s not one of the really deep, heavy snows we get. Hard for me to be sorry about that. It’s quite bad enough getting this one off our ski slope of a driveway!
