ODD BALL PHOTO CHALLENGE WITH GLASS TEAPOT

Cee’s Odd Ball Photo Challenge: 2015 Week #9

glass teapot - 2

This week’s pictures were originally illustrations for a different post. About tea, actually. Surprisingly, I just loved the way they came out … the clarity of the glass, the textures and tones. So, this week’s oddballs are about tea and a glass teapot.

  3. I loved the first one best. I had a richer quality because of the wood the pot was sitting on. I also liked the reflection of the ceiling fan in the glass. At first, I thought there was a windmill etched into the glass, but then I took a second look.

    • Thank you. Good catch! I love reflections. The yellow is the counter-top — old but serviceable. The other is a baker’s rack. It has a small wood counter. We use it for storing canisters, to put the toaster over and all the other stuff that doesn’t fit elsewhere. I like that first one too. First I thought it was too busy, but I kept looking at it. The more I looked, the better I liked it. Combination of tone and texture, I guess. Much better light in the morning when I shot it. Most of the others were shot in the evening and the only light was the overhead lights that are part of the fan which makes the color a bit green.

    • It does a great job. Probably because the water can circulate through the leaves. I had never seen a teapot like this. Usually it’s a glass tube with little holes, but this one is a much more intelligent design and it works. Photographs well, too 🙂 Got it on Amazon and it was inexpensive, in case you are interested.

  5. Great odd ball Marilyn. That strainer looks huge compared to the pot. 🙂

  7. I agree. The pot came out splendidly. It has presence – Much in the way you see a perfect icicle (tho you’ve probably seen too many of those lately). Strangely too, the way it glows suggests movement – that something is going to happen with it. A good cuppa indubitably.
