  1. I love all of these…especially the dolls. And it gives me an idea about a picture I’d like to submit.

    • Thanks! I have like — 250? — old dolls, including historical and literary figures. I have tried every which way to take interesting photographs of them and so far, this is my most successful attempt. I wouldn’t have thought black and white, but they are antique or close to antique … so perhaps it’s appropriate. I keep trying to find new ways to photograph old things. The results are mixed 🙂

      • Have you seen my poem “The Dollmaker”? Bet you would identify with it. If you want, I’ll send it, or you can search for it on my blog. No obligation, though…Judy

        • A link would be great … or the poem, either is fine. Not everyone identifies with dolls … but I’ve always loved them, from when I got my first doll when I was 5.

  4. I like your little vintage and a little modern plastics. They all go well together. Thanks Marilyn.

    • Thanks, Cee. I thought my 70-year-old dolls deserved a hint of “antique” in the photos. I’ve begun to use the ‘in camera’ monochrome settings instead of Photoshop. The sepia setting works better than the black and white and it’s easy enough to adjust tones in Photoshop afterward. This is a new way to do things for me. I’m still playing around with it. Of course, each of my cameras has slightly different setting, so there’s a lot of trial and error. I’m glad you like these. I did everything at least three times until I got something I liked well enough to post.
