APPLE BLOSSOM TIME

Apple Blossoms-1

I feel I should mention that this may be one of the top five favorite pictures I’ve ever taken. The color of the sky, the perfection of the flowers on the branches. And all of this on the front lawn of my dentist’s office while Garry was having his teeth cleaned.

There’s always a picture waiting to be taken.

  1. I agree totally with you. Gorgeous image. Yes, there is always a photo waiting to be taken when you lest expect it. I am always embarrassing my son when I get my phone or camera out. You just never know do you?

  4. Very beautiful, and you are right, you just have to be looking to find that one thing to capture in an image.

(I almost said “capture on film”…who would have ever thought that would be antiquated today?)

  5. Beautiful, Marilyn. I’m learning to carry my camera everywhere so I don’t miss an opportunity. Only problem is – I usually get so excited by what I’m seeing that I forget to actually take the camera out of my purse until it’s too late.

  7. Lovely apple blossoms. I fully agree with your statement. We had many apple trees in our lawn while we were posted in Joshimath, Uttarakhand ( Garhwal region)one of the most difficult terrain in Himalayas. Unfortunately my children were small and I didn’t had a good camera. You can say I neither had the time to take pictures nor the inclination to enjoy photography. That place had some of the most breathtaking landscapes especially during autumn and snowfall. I missed some of the best opportunities of clicking nature.

    • You don’t get to see apple trees bloom quite this beautifully every year. Some years, there are just a couple of little flowers and then they are good. This was a good one.

I missed a lot of photographs in the years I was a working mother. We are not super women, even though we try.

  9. My apple tree is blossoming in the garden. It is interesting to observe nature’s clock through the year. Soon the blossoms will fall and there will be miniature apples left which will grow until Autumn, but the blossoms are the most beautiful.

    • I don’t know if this one is crab apple or regular. I suspect crab apple, because they have nicer flowers. I wish it were MY tree, but it is on the lawn of the dentist’s office πŸ™‚

      • Mine is a so-called Fiorina. I bought it in the supermarket as a sapling and planted it about 15 years ago. It now has on average 150 apples per year. I also have a taller tree I planted from an apple seed, but it has never flowered.

        • Apple trees are male and female but I can’t tell the difference. I think you need both to make it flower and produce apples in any quantity. I assume a farmer who has orchards would need to know. Way back when, we had a huge pear tree in the back yard that produced bushels and bushels of pears. I learned to make pear pie, pickled pears, brandied pears, pear turnovers, pear sauce and the neighbors came and took the rest away. But it never flowered. Just produced a staggering crop of fruit.

  10. Lovely! I’ve seen apple blossoms from afar. I’m sure the air must be fragrant with them.
