APPLES AND AUTUMN

AforAutumn

Autumn’s perfection, the fearful symmetry of the seasons … amber light, golden leaves.

Apple crisp and pumpkin pies, colors to warm the soul. The rich tapestry of nature rolls on …

Alight with color, the world of winter lurks in the corners.

    • It rhymes. That’s as good as my poetry gets 🙂

      • When I read the beginning of your poem, I thought, “I don’t recognize this one…”

I honestly expected to see, at the end, that the poem was attributed to Robert Frost. It has that kind of feel to it.

If you can write a poem that a Frost fan thinks could be one of his, you’re obviously doing something right. (Unless, of course, you didn’t want it to resemble Robert Frost’s poetry in any way, but with a line like “Alas… It’s so brief (perfection can’t hold)” — reminds me of “Nothing gold can stay” — you only have yourself to blame. 🙂 )

        • I am a big Robert Frost fan, so I’ve probably got his rhythms and rhymes embedded in my brain. I once composed a piano piece that turned out to be a re-interpretation of a Chopin nocturne. My piano teacher recognized the melody and found it. I apparently had played it and completely forgotten where I’d heard it.

I don’t think this exists anywhere else.

Thank you. I can’t think of any better compliment than to be on ANY level compared to Robert Frost!! I actually have his portrait hanging on my wall.
