JUST A FEW MINUTES TOO LATE

It was too late. I smelled it the moment I opened the bedroom door.

Biscuit time - All dogs

Walking the dogs isn’t something you can delay while you get that extra hour of sleep. Damn.

Smell you later …

  1. Must be quite irritating to react fast in the middle of sound sleep.

  2. Do you know what product has had one of the most explosive sales increases in my 17 years in retail? Puppy pads. When I was stocking Pets in 1998, they were pretty much an afterthought. I think we maybe sold one kind of them, but that’s it. Now, they have an entire section of the counter to themselves! I think it’s more a sign of people being too laz…. er, “busy” to actually take their dogs out for walks anymore. We even sell doggie diapers…. if that isn’t a sad statement on the modern world of pet ownership….

    • We had a dog in diapers for months. She was old and had become incontinent. We had to put her down or put her in diapers. Garry was not ready to let her go. We should have, though. She was old, failing. I don’t think it was a kindness to keep her around for those extra months. We learned a hard lesson and we’ll never do that again.

I think most diapers are sold for old dogs that just can’t hold it, or have “lost” their housebreaking. Like old people sometimes do.

The best part of puppy pads? They don’t work. Dogs totally ignore them.

  3. Today is holiday in Switzerland. All the catholic parts are closed because of corupus christi. What’s a holiday? Holidays only exist for those that have nothing to do. Luckily we have cats, but they cannot cook or clean and are of no help to me. Marilyn walking is healthy, at least for the dogs.
