Thanks! Old Number 2 lives just up the block, so we can visit him in any season. He has been living there for almost twenty years and I expect will stay there until there’s nothing left of him but a few rusting parts.

Old Number Two is sort of a local firefighter monument. Or the closest we have got 🙂 Thanks.

Wonderful old number 2 – in two different seasons! I’d love to know its story.

I’m sure he has stories to tell, but as far as I know, it was bought new by the Uxbridge Fire Department in the early 1950s. Got old in the service of the department and was replaced in the early 1990s. Fire engines last a long time. They are insanely expensive, so most towns and cities use them until they are unable to run at all.

Thank you. Old number two is still in the same lot across from the post office. It is his retirement home.
