That’s probably because while people will rebuilt and modernize houses, they leave the barns alone as long as they will stand. They are really made to any particular style, so they are all interesting and unique.

There are a couple of building firms here that try to replicate the American barn style.

They can’t. There is no style. Every farmer used whatever materials he had and built whatever he felt like building. No two alike 🙂

We have a LOT of them around and many of the oldest ones are still in use.

They each have an individual character. It’s the aged wood, you know? So much texture. And every barn is unique. Many of them are quite old, too.
