My biggest advantage in getting these shots was getting up really early before there were people on the beach to disturb the birds. That early morning quiet is the best time, even without a camera.

It was a beautiful morning. The beach — at least the part I was one — was pretty much empty of people and the birds were doing their own things. Bird things. It was beautiful.

Thank you. When I was on that dock in Rockport, the only living things enjoying that incredible sunrise were me and about a million or two mosquitoes. They apparently LOVE sunrise! And my blood.

Yeah, and they all had accents like Bela Lugosi too. Can you imagine thousands of little vampires, flying around your head all speaking at once like Bela..? 🙂 Must have been worth it as the shots are beeewwtifful…

I took ALL the pictures in less than 10 minutes then RAN back to our room. I was the only warm-blooded creature on the docks. I was the whole buffet!

Thank you. All I need is a little luck, the ability to get up VERY early … and a beach that’s open at dawn. Which I suppose is why this only happens when we are on vacation at the shore 🙂
