I wasn’t kidding when I said these shacks are local icons. They prop them up and somehow, for reasons we can only guess, Hadley LOVES their shacks. They ARE fire traps.

Is it just me and my computer, or did they move the “like” feature to …well I don’t know. I have to scroll all the way down now to press like. It was beside the reader last week right? Or am I loosing all my marbles?
LikeLike
Yes. They moved both “Like” and “Reblog” from the top to the middle of the page. You still have your marbles. I don’t know about them.

Our grocery store does the same shit. They watch me and every time I know my way around, that’s when they come in at night and turn everything upside down. Pissed me off π

Yes, they ALL do it. Grocery stores do it so you’ll have to walk down different lanes and maybe you’ll spontaneously buy stuff you wouldn’t usually buy. WordPress does it because they are morons.

You are sure they are not doing it to piss me off? Because they succeed π

Outstanding ! I want to be there in person to enter that shack. This is so different from snow pictures. Loved both the images.

I think no one is allowed into either shack. Too dangerous. They really are falling down!

It has become a local icon. They love it, too. I think they have to keep propping it up.

I wrote a poem about my affinity to old houses once upon a time. They used to be grand once, some of them. Now they’re in disrepair. Time waits for nothing, it seems. Beautiful pictures, as always.

Yes, me too. I love old houses, but now only in principle. They are money pits. Great if you can afford the renovations, but otherwise, nope, not for us. Been there. Done that. The house won.

It does make you ponder the lives lived in those old places.

I usually love the architecture for itself, unless it was the home of some historical figure(s). My taste has changed, though. I like a lot of things I didn’t used to like and don’t like things I used to think were beautiful.

There’s a sense of nostalgia to those buildings.

Yes, there is. Very ghosty, too. The neighborhoods that have these shacks just love them. I’m pretty sure they prop them up regularly, because otherwise, they long since have collapsed.

I think these old places have a new chic label.., “Modern Dilapidated”.., very cool. BTW, I loved the photos.

I love these photos – the editing really suits the subject.

I’ve played with these images a lot. Because it was snowing when I took them, I got that nice white field behind them, so the pictures really lend themselves to processing. And they are naturally monochrome. The originals have a tiny hint of green in the fir trees, but otherwise, all shades of gray/tan/white/black.
