KNOCK, KNOCK WRITING CHALLENGE ~ ! WEEK #7
Ladybug says:
I would like you to take three pictures in or around your home of things that are special to you. Tell me the story about it. Why is it special?
I live in the woods and living here is like … well … living in the woods. The trees are all around us, naked in winter, providing deep shade in summer … and glorious in October.
Life amidst the trees has its drawbacks. The house is dark in the summer. The oaks are tall forming a canopy the sun cannot penetrate. But our house stays cooler in the summer than most.
The trees are constantly changing. Growing. Reshaping themselves. They whisper between themselves, secrets only they know and I would love to share.

Your forest is great. Trees stop the howling wind before it gets to your house. We have wind all the time, young gophers learn to hang on to the side of the gopher hole so they don’t blow away.

When it gets very windy, trees fall down. At least one or two every storm. We’ve cut down a lot of the trees near the house because if they fall in the woods, well, that’s the way it goes … but those are pretty big trees and I’d rather not have one come through the roof!

Brilliant to live in the woods! I can imagine this is important to you.
I have to think what is important around my house. I guess the heathlands, castles and old houses in my near surrounding, and the sky. The Dutch landscape lacks mountains and waterfalls or any rough terrain, hence the (dramatic) clouds are very important to us!
Happy Monday!

If only we didn’t get so much snow, it would be perfect. I think the right amount of snow is one small, pretty, gentle storm on Christmas Eve. It should last for 24 hours, followed by spring immediately after New Year’s Day.
Holland is beautiful. You have tulips. Canals. Windmills 🙂

We barely have a white christmas, mainly rain, so can’t complain about to much snow 😉 But yes, Holland is beautiful!
Have a wonderful day!
