LURED BY THE LIGHT

72-Home-Autumn-1023_004

One of the best parts of living in the woods is that to a large degree, our windows are all “picture windows.” Vistas on nature and beautiful, all through the years.

I am particularly fond of the light that shines through the windows just before twilight and early in the evening. No matter what I’m doing, I will often look up and grab a camera, lured by the light.

This is not one of our most glorious autumn seasons … but it sure is pretty.

I want it to go on and on … displacing the next season, which shall remain unnamed.

  2. Lucky we to see this beauty through your windows. Can’t imagine everything would be covered under the snow in coming months. Thanks for sharing amazing pictures.

  3. I liked the woods, mums snd especially love your windows framing your lovely views. Lucky you and I am blessed to live next door to a university where they have a tree arbor, a labyrinth and beautiful flowers.

  4. I, too, live in a rural area, eighty acres of woods abutting our backyard. Last week, an 8-point buck jumped our front fence, meandered through the yard and when he sensed the dog and I, jumped the back fence and retreated to the woods.
I have been hearing gun shots and hope that no one shot that majestic creature for “treasure.” Oh, and there was a fawn with the buck, I have never seen both of those things in person before!

    • Funny you should mention gunshots. Just heard a rifle shot. NO ONE should be shooting this close to homes. I really hate hunting season. I worry about the deer, the dogs … then I worry about US. Those morons will shoot anything that moves.

  5. Yes, we will not mention that next season that drops white leaves on us that have to be removed and driven over. πŸ™‚

  8. Lovely photos. I’m such a hermit days off work but I do love looking at the trees and sun from my dining/living room windows. I find our Autumn colors are really nice this year. The wind and rain didn’t rip them off so fast.
