I love the lighting in that first street scene! The house with a blue door reminds me of some of the homes I have seen in England which have very brightly painted doors.

It is very similar to English gatehouses. I saw nearly identical houses there. This one dates back at least 100 years, maybe more.

Thanks. I decided to see if I could take something interesting in a place that had nothing interesting to shoot 🙂 Came out looking a bit haunted. But interesting, sort of.

Thanks, Cee. Since I took these, the lights are up on the Common. I need to get over there after dark and take some pictures 🙂

Thanks! It’s my iconic house in all seasons. It’s glorious in autumn, especially, with the red maple tree. This is the barest time of the year. The orange cones are the main other color 🙂

It has such character. ( I want to see what’s behind the blue door)

It’s actually an old caretakers house from what was probably originally a mansion in any case, a much bigger house. There are a few of these mansions — most Victorians — still in good shape not far away, but in this case, the original land has filled in with houses (mostly dating from the turn of the century or slightly later) and the original big house is gone. The little houses seem to have survived nicely.
