A Photo a Week Challenge: Extended Family
From Nancy Merrill:
“We all come from somewhere. We all have people we consider family, whether blood kin or chosen kin. The holidays are a time when we connect or reconnect with family and friends who make up our support systems, and extended family becomes very important. I hope that this holiday seasons brings you and your families great joy and closeness, no matter which holidays you are celebrating.
IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A PHOTO OR TWO (OR THREE…) THAT FEATURE THE PEOPLE IN YOUR EXTENDED FAMILY, BLOOD RELATION OR NOT.”
I didn’t take these pictures. Many were taken by family members or passing strangers.

Great photos. I have a twin sister who reads my blog so posting any family photos are out of the questions. I have started going through old photos though, taking photos of them to edit them – now that is fun.

I feel like I know your family so well now, Marilyn. My family would hang me out to dry if I put their pictures out there without sunglasses or in some disguise. I do have one that might qualify – our little grandson with Groucho Marx sunglasses on. Then he would probably object to that now too.

My family never bothers to read my posts, so if they object, they don’t know. I probably should mention that more than half of them are no longer amongst the living, so if they ever objected, they are silent now.

I wouldn’t hesitate to put the deceased out there. Come to think of it I don’t think many of my family read my posts either. However, some of them would roast me alive if they caught me.

Not to mention, if they did object, you’d want to know how they found out and where they are calling from? 🙂

So many great family pictures. And I must say, Garry is Mr. Photogenic!!

Yes, the camera loves Garry, more since he lost weight. No more chubby cheeks. I wish I could say the same. I look plump, but also haggard which is worse. Fat is merely overly rounded, but haggard makes me look like someone Buffy is searching for, sharpened stake in hand!

I love these photos, the old and the new. All of you connected to one another

We are a rainbow crew. Motley in the original meaning of the term 🙂 I think we successfully represent all races and ethnicity except Maori, maybe.

Motley? A tip of the hat to old friend, the legendary Ferdinand Motley III, gone but not forgotten. He was part of our extended college radio family.
We are FAMILY!

Yes, we are. Weird though it sometimes feels.

I always felt like a part of that family even though I never worked at WVHC. Jeffrey adopted a few of us as family members on general terms.., and I’ll always be grateful for that association. After all, I wouldn’t have you guys as friends if it hadn’t gone down the way it did, right?
