THE DUSTY STREETS OF TOMBSTONE

A PHOTO A WEEK: VINTAGE

From Nancy Merrill:

“The vintage look is very popular right now. It’s a fun look to play around with. Most photo editing software will come with canned vintage presets you can apply to your images. In Photoshop, I use Curves, contrast, and saturation to get the vintage look I want. It’s fun and challenging at the same time.”

This is my favorite vintage-style photograph. It’s Main Street in Tombstone, Arizona. I tried to make it look the way I though maybe it had looked when the Earps were running the town.

  1. I think you achieved your goal, great job!

I miss Photoshop, using GIMP now, it’s totally free (open source) and if one is an advanced user of Photoshop, you will find that anything you can do in Photoshop, you can do in Gimp.

It looks like you are enjoying Arizona! 😀

    • I’m going to eventually give GIMP another try, but since I have Photoshop, it’s hard to see a good reason to change.

      • OHHH absolutely! I would have stayed with Photoshop if it would have worked with my new upgrade, but, it wouldn’t. And I wasn’t about to spend the money. If you already have Photoshop, stay with it! You are doing very nice effects with it!

  2. I was there in 1975 and it still looks about the same. 😀

  3. Sweet. But how did you get rid of all the people?
I know how to edit stuff out, but I doubt that you went through all that.
