IF MOSES AND PHAROH HAD A GOOD WIFI CONNECTION … HAPPY PASSOVER!

Happy Passover!

Still funny after all these years. I have always said that history would be entirely different if only they had cell phones “back in the day”!

  1. ROFL and more, I am still laughing with tears in my eyes. Mr. Swiss asked, from his computer, what I am laughing at, will send it to him on his computer. I am actually quite up in jewish history growing up in a jewish area of London. I really got the joke and loved the bit with the frog, I could go on, this is so funny. What a great start to the day.

  2. Another good laugh for the day. Happy Passover to one and all. I can’t understand why Easter was so early this year. I always thought the two were together?

        • If you are referring the the fact that the last supper was a Seder and thus took place on Passover, yes, that’s true. Which is why, until this year, the holidays always occurred together. I have NO idea why they are a month apart this year. It makes no sense and I don’t even know who to ask.

          • It doesn’t make any sense to me either. Maybe I’ll try to Google it. This is what I got – Why?

In the Christian tradition, Jesus celebrated a Passover meal with his followers the day before his crucifixion, marked on the Thursday before Easter Sunday. So the date of Easter is connected to the date of Passover. (Passover commemorates the liberation of the Jewish people from slavery in Egypt.)

But Passover is in April this year, and Easter is in March.

This part is confusing. Two things happened in the fourth century – the Christian Council of Nicea laid down the first-Sunday-after-the-full-moon formula, and Jewish scholars standardized the date of Passover to a fixed date in the Hebrew calendar. Neither Easter nor Passover have a fixed date in the secular (standard) calendar. On the other hand, both Easter and Passover have a relationship to the paschal moon.

    • I have always maintained that the history of the world everywhere would be radically altered if there had been cell phones. The Battle of New Orleans, for one, would never have been fought since the war had been over for a week by then. Lots of others. The whole element of surprise would have been mashed 🙂
