MONOCHROME FAVORITES

Cee’s black and white challenge this week leaves the topic open. So, it seems a great time to make a mosaic of favorite monochrome images. I’ve only recently begun to really like (some) of my black and white work.

  1. As always, my favorites are anything with bare limbs and a background of sky! Love these!

  6. These are all really, really good, but I too am especially drawn to the receding power lines across that dramatic land and sky-scape.

    • Thank you! I had to walk a long way to get under the wires. Distance is so deceptive in the desert. It didn’t LOOK that far 😀

It was the only place from which I could get that effect. I got the shot, but even so, it took a lot of tinkering to make them stand out against the sky.

  7. I like all of them especially the street scene which has something “film noir” about it.

  8. The one that is black and gold… spot color??? It’s incredible as well.

    • Thank you. It’s not spot color, just monochrome using a yellow toning rather than the more typical sepia or gray scale. But it’s a sunrise and I thought gold would work. Sunrise in the mountains of Vermont in Autumn. It’s a very gold time 🙂

  9. These are all crazy good, Marilyn, but I’m especially fond of the first one. Just stunning.
