EMPTY. My mind is a blank on which I shall not write.
Yup, that’s me this morning. Half asleep … and now that I look, it’s already afternoon. My brain is not seething with ideas, though visions of pillows and soft beds dance in my head. Ah sweet friends, I’m going to let this day slip by.
I shall play frivolous games, put my feet up, have another cup of coffee and enjoy the glorious mindless emptiness of my usually too-busy brain.
Tomorrow, as Candide so well put it (or was it Scarlett O’Hara?), is another day.

Never thought emptiness could be enjoyed so well. I’m a person who doesn’t really go well with embracing emptiness so this inspires me as of now. Thanks!

An empty mind is the devil’s playground, or something like that. I think I’m living proof of that…

That’s exactly what I’m doing. I need to stop pushing so hard. It’s summertime here. I want to enjoy it at a slower pace 🙂

It’s a nice and ironic metaphor but I don’t think that even the near strangers here are buying the Empty Mind notion

Probably, but I’m really enjoy doing mindless stuff. I need some irresponsible time to do nothing important or valuable.

I found this on the daily prompt page and I’m so glad I did. Thank you for a lovely reminder to be still. There is no music without the rests. There is no rhythm without some changes in direction.

VERY well said. If the music doesn’t pause, it’s just shapeless noise. Life without pauses because … nothing but noise. Thank you. And thank you again.

A perfect garden where nothing is moving, everything still, what more could you want. We genius people have to take a break now and again.

I would take out most of the remnants of the old garden except for those terrifying dead rose bushes. Maybe I’ll finally pay somebody to do it. Every time I look at it, I feel vaguely guilty because the flowers fight so hard to live and I’m not helping them at all 🙂

Your garden being yourself, not yard work!!!

Honestly, I’m taking pictures of it, but not tending it. It really IS a disaster. The dead areas of rose bushes are covered with lethal thorns, so whatever is there is really taking care of itself. That ANYTHING is growing is a testament to the power of nature to renew herself despite our intereference 🙂

What I meant is–tend your own garden.. you! Your inner garden. Take the day off. Don’t think about the damn roses or anything surrounding it.. at least for a day!!!

I believe Candid said, “Tend thy own garden,” which you seem to be doing today. Good for you..

I like Candide. He was the “best of all possible worlds” guy, right? I read Candide (in French) way back in high school. It made me laugh, but also think.

Thanks. I forgot it is also music. To me, it has always been a very funny and wise book.

Just so you know, I found your missing comments in the spam folder. Why they decided you are spam? No idea. I didn’t put them back because you already repeated the information here, but just so you know … IT WASN’T ME! It was the spam filter what done it!

I know. The same thing has happened on my blog. Who knows what triggers the Spam guardian?

That’s Scarlett on the “tomorrow” line. Probably being used by the manager of our Red Sox who are stumbling along a perilous path. Some fans may be mumbling Rhett’s exit line.

Sometimes, I can’t remember which is Voltaire and which is Margaret Mitchell. But I’m pretty sure neither manages the Red Sox.
