MONOCHROME FLOWERS – CEE’S BLACK & WHITE PHOTO CHALLENGE

CEE’S BLACK & WHITE PHOTO CHALLENGE: FLOWERS

Chrysanthemums with a hint of tint and a bit of glow

I admit to a strong prejudice in favor of color for flowers … but I’m also willing to see if I can do something monochrome that I like. These are a bit experimental … and I’m not sure how I feel about them. Something different for a summer day.

  1. Actually I love monochrome flowers. I do like your editing – my favourite is the first one – it looks like an etching. Well done as I know you are keen on monochrome blooms

  3. These are all great black and white Marilyn. I really like your little lilies on the bottom. 😀

  4. The effort is interesting. But I think the flowers lose life without full color. I hope this isn’t blatantly racist.

  5. I’m with you on the black and white. It’s a very difficult adjustment for my eyes. The chrysanthemums is a solution. Cee’s photos seem to be using macro (right word?) techniques to emphasize the anatomy of the flowers. Which is interesting.

  6. Great photos, but I’m in two minds about monochromatic flowers too. I like B&W because it often brings an ominous feel to a photo, but since the flowers are quite cheery it confuses my brain 🙂
