A Photo a Week Challenge: Hands
Nancy’s subject this week is hands. Even more than eyes, hands are the expression of our true self. The way we move them, use them. They show our past and our future. A hand is a microcosm of an individual.
This hand says everything, but softly.

I agree that hands do reveal a great deal about the subject. The hands and eyes are very important to me.

Eyes can be soulful, but hands hold ones history. Whatever you’ve done in life, it’s somewhere written on your hands.

My Dad was always suspicious of guys who’s hands were too soft.., just didn’t trust “em….

Of course I always wondered how he knew they were too soft…. Hmmmm…

From shaking hands? People used to do that a lot more than they do now … and men were judged by their handshake. Maybe that wasn’t such a bad thing.

I notice how hands feel. Smooth, strong, hard, soft. It tells me a lot. Some hands seem more capable than others. This can, however, be an illusion 🙂

Yeah, the hand can say a lot.., especially if held in position to express power, or displayed with the middle finger indicating a solitary act of self abuse… 🙂

Or abuse you would like very much to heap upon that OTHER driver 🙂

I have heard that capturing hands is one of the most difficult things to do, whether it be photography, painting, sculpting, etc. I think it would be really interesting to do a study of “just” hands, for a big project.

Good idea. I’m not enough of an artist to do anything but photography, but if I were a sculptor …
