BRIGHT FOLIAGE BY THE MUMFORD

Even the day before yesterday, the color hadn’t really risen in the trees along the Mumford which runs through the middle of Uxbridge. But today, there was color. There will be more. Tonight there’s a hard frost expected and that should make the color really “pop.”

I didn't see it at the time, but there's big hawk overhead.

There rain has helped the water level. And the dam is flowing with some strength again.

  1. I will now take a walk down to the River Aar and see how they are popping here. Things are beginning to happen quite fast and furious and before you know it there will be no more leaves to pop. I noticed the first carpet of brown leaves on the path. I love the colours reflected in the water.

    • I didn’t notice that reflection until after I downloaded them. I was pleasantly surprised.

Suddenly, things are changing fast. Frost tonight. Two more weeks and the leaves will fall. Two weeks more and we’ll be worrying about snow. I wish the Autumn would last much longer. All year would suit me just fine!

    • I’ve seen people turn up the saturation in Photoshop (or whatever they are using to process) so that there really ARE cobalt blue leaves. Here in New England, we sneer at the blue leaves. We don’t need no stinking cheap effects. We let nature do her thing, whatever that may be πŸ™‚

I didn’t even see the reflections and subtle colors until after I had the pictures on my computer. My eyes are not that good and I have to wear my computer glasses when I shoot because my distance vision glasses make it impossible for me to see the LCD on the camera. Sad, but true. However, it looks like Mom Nature is going to give us a very nice show this year. Tune in for much more to come. The next two weeks are the main event of the year. After which, it will all end in a big hurry.
