This morning, we took two blacks heaps of dirty rags to the groomer and emerged two hours later with surprisingly attractive Scottish Terriers. Texture? Soft and fuzzy!
Bonnie has a better beard than Gibbs! A very proud Scottie beard. I got the pictures before we left the groomer. It was raining out and who knew how long they’d look good. Note the two piles of “dirty black rags” have gone and both dogs … (trumpet flourish!) … have eyes!

Bonnie is definitely one of the best looking bearded ladies I have ever seen….

They are. They make me smile when everything is swathed in gloom.

My pleasure. I love showing them off when they are looking good — unlike the way they usually look!

Thank you. I knew I had to get pictures right away, before they have time to get all grubby again 🙂

Which one is in Garry’s left arm–the one staring straight at the camera? Such a soulful look.

Well, looking the the picture, Bonnie is on the left and Gibbs on the right. Bonnie is smaller, but she has a longer beard, smaller eyes, and a shorter snout. Gibbs has big brown eyes and a LONG nose. He always looks soulful.

Marilyn now says Gibbs is Jewish because of his long nose. If I said that, “Ka-BOOM!”.

I think they are both happy. They don’t like getting groomed, but they seem to really enjoy looking good. They seem to know. They pose.

It must feel good too.

We’re just one big happy family in this moment. The dogs smelled and looked better than me.

I approve of these Scotties.
But we have 4 cats.
Self grooming.

Yes, we used to have cats. Too bad they didn’t also clean the cat box!

Rose does that chore. The cats are hers. I like them, but I would never have pets at all by myself.

I’ve always had pets. I can only remember a few periods, often “between” permanent homes, i didn’t, but otherwise, there were always cats, dogs, birds and the occasional ferret.

Bonnie self grooms her “forks” aka front paws.

Yeah, Yeah … I remember now our dog Kim used to clean his paws. We wouldn’t let him off the rug till he did. He was a wonderful dog. Those dogs give unconditional love. They got that thing figured out.

They do. Two things. Giving love and being cute 😉

Soft and fuzzy? I thought you were talking about Garry!

I wouldn’t describe Garry as fuzzy. Soft and silky, maybe.

Here too. Now they are back-peddling because having passed the referendum, they have no idea what to do next. I could tell them, but they haven’t asked me.

They are adorable! I’m sure they preen and prance when they are groomed. Most pets love the special attention.

AND they got squeaky toys to bring home! A pink and blue starfish! It just doesn’t GET better than this 🙂

Our dogs are cute. Well, WE think they are cute. And being black dogs, they are always a challenge to me as a photographer.

I can see why, they can disappear into the nothingness, my cat is black and the same rules apply, lol unless he’s out on the snow of course, smirk smirk

And when they are between groomings — which is most of the time — they have no eyes.

They play peek a boo and hide and seek, snicker snicker

Probably pets of the road gang captain in “Cool Hand Luke”. He was the guy in sunglasses, “the man with no eyes” played by Morgan Woodward.

Covert, I think they called their agent to say they are ready for a new major film.

Those eyes, though. They look a tad unimpressed by all the canine beautification. But at least we can enjoy the results. A fine pair of terriers.

Gibbs is becoming a regular dog. He almost forgot to be afraid at the groomer today 🙂 A fine pair of scotties … with such lovely eyes.

Tish, they look like movie stars now and damn well know it. They are also so smooth to touch and smell so NICE. Marilyn did a wonderful job in color balancing between the dogs and me. No easy feat!!

I thought you looked very fine between your very handsome Scotties. Nothing like a freshly laundered and well coiffed dog. I used to have lots of dogs in another life. I miss my labradors. But I do not miss my springer spaniel 🙂

I miss many dogs, but there are dogs I don’t miss and although i loved them, breathed a sign of relief when age finally took them. Not every dog is a joy to live with.
