I enjoyed this look back in photos…. heck, I had actually forgotten about the caterpillar invasion! That seems like years ago for some reason. The 2016 Epidemic didn’t really hit me until the second half of the year, so I guess it’s skewed my perception of time to where June really does seem like that long ago…

I think the election was so overwhelming, it knocked the rest of the year right out of our heads. I know it did that to me. I almost forget the invasion too … and it was a really big deal when it happened.

What a splendid idea, Marilyn! I love each month seen through your lense. But maybe I have a special weakness for August and October. Gorgeous pics. Happy New Year 2017! And to many more photos.

At least visually. I’m going to ignore all the rest of it for the moment and enjoy THIS little respite.

Think you captured most of the good times.

Fortunately for us all, that’s what we tend to capture. The bad stuff doesn’t need illustrations.

And I am delighted to have shared with you. You have come such a long way in the quality of what you do as a photographer. I don’t know if you realize how remarkable you are! Take a victory lap. You have earned it.

Me too 🙂 We are always learning. There is so much TO learn, but that’s the fun of it. You can’t ever know everything.

Great set of pictures, and a lovely idea to put them all together 🙂

Thank you 🙂 It was the ONLY idea I had. I don’t remember my posts. I’m sure if I spent the time going through the posts one by one, I’d figure it out, but pictures were much easier. MUCH less work 🙂

Thanks! It was interesting to me how frequently we both shoot the same scenes. It’s the good and the bad of not doing much traveling 🙂

And to you, too. If you use the media library and the old dashboard, it’s pretty easy to put these things together. It took me less than an hour. The hardest part was picking the photos because, like you, I have a lot of them.
Let’s hope for a good year to come 🙂

That was the year that was – great work in piecing that one together. I would not know where to begin.

All my photo files from the past three years are labeled by month and year. That helps. ALSO, if you use the media library on WordPress, you can sort pictures by month and year, too. There’s a dropdown menu on the dashboard, at least on the old dashboard (which is what I still use). So you can just pick pictures out of your library — which is what I did.
I couldn’t think of a more clever way to collect pictures, so I put them in there by month/year and hope I have a small memory of what I did and what I might have shot.

I have almost no pictures in wordPress, but online in flickr and I combine them with my writings by html. I would not even know how to do it in wordPress and I have a feeling that I had no problems with the new template for my writing because of that. My photos all have a date on them in my private files, and in flickr the date arrives automatically when I upload them. I would have no problem to find the photos from this year

I knew you were organized 🙂 It took me forever to get my act together and orgnize the photo files. There are still an awful lot of them. Assignments like this prove to me, though, that it was worth the effort 🙂

Fortunately, the media library lets me sort stuff by month and year. Otherwise, I couldn’t have done it. Thank you 🙂 It came out better than I expected and I certainly had enough material to work with.
