The hospital is actually two hospitals that have become one — the Deaconess Hospital, built in 1896,  and Beth-Israel, originally constructed in 1916. The original buildings are part of the newer buildings. This is true of most hospitals in Boston where the old buildings are a part of new ones.

  2. I like the blend of the old and the new. The black and white is very effective from this perspective. Where were you standing, on a hill or in another building?
