Exhausted from a day at the doggy spa, the weary pooches sack out.

That’s right! It’s the quarterly cleaning up of the grubby Scotties. For a few glorious days, they are silky, soft, and they smell good. Probably less this time because it has been raining all day today and it’s supposed to pour throughout the weekend. It seems a bit unfair that we can’t have at least one long weekend of clean dogs, but the weather just is.

After all the years of drought, this is great for the aquifer. It just makes for a pretty dreary spring.

    1. They really are exhausted. For us, going to get a hair cut or something like that is no big deal. But for them, they get dragged into the car, dropped off at a strange place. Dumped in a tub of soapy water Scrubbed, clipped, combed. It gets done every 3-months, but for them, that’s a lifetime. They don’t remember the previous time. Some dogs enjoy getting groomed. Bonnie is okay, to a point, but Gibbs is not a happy camper. It seems funny, but it really IS traumatic for them.

Dogs that are groomed more frequently are better about it, but for our guys — they have no idea why all this stuff is going on. And I haven’t figured out how to explain it to them. I wish I could.

      1. It would be wonderful to be able to speak with our animals, but i wonder if we would always like what they had to say?? πŸ˜‰

I suspect they might be able to explain a few things to us as well that we would be all the better for knowing πŸ™‚
