MECHANICS CONCERT HALL – BLACK & WHITE SUNDAYS

BLACK & WHITE SUNDAYS – MUSIC

I never have enough pictures of music “in action.” I’m one of those weird people who doesn’t like taking pictures during a concert. I’ll take some before the concert starts, and sometimes one or two in the middle.

I’m so worried I might disturb someone’s concert experience, I do as little as possible.  So …  mostly … it’s all about concert hall architecture.

  2. I love low key, the composition in your shots and the mood, and I love the organ too. Thank you, Marilyn. I can relate to that – not wanting to disturb the players. I hope you enjoyed this challenge .)

    • I did enjoy it. I had almost forgotten that concert hall, I’ve done a lot of pictures from Boston’s Symphony hall probably because I have about five years of photograph to work from. We were only in this hall once and I didn’t take many pictures. Unlike Boston where we get there early because of traffic and parking, this was more local. There wasn’t a lot of time between arriving and the start of the concert. And it was Garry’s brother conducting, so we had to dash backstage and say “Hi, we’re here!” …

It is a lovely hall, however. Sort of hidden in our locally falling down city.

  3. It’s nice to know some people still uphold standards of respect for other concert goers – and Conductors/artists/musicians. 🙂

Love the architecture – you captured it nicely – were the shots taken in colour originally? or B/W?
    love
