Normally, by this time of year, we’d have all kind of yellow flowers blooming in the gardens. But the chilliness and constant rain since March has slowed down the arrival of the flowers — and apparently stopped some completely. I could not find a single bud on the rose bushes. Nor are any day lilies in bloom, although I’m sure they will arrive … albeit late.
So all of these yellows are from previous years because the yellows just are not here up yet — except for the early daffodils, a couple of tulips, and the ever present forsythia.
And here’s to a fabulous weekend coming up! We deserve at least one really love one, don’t we?

Yes. The first true color of spring is gold. I believe that’s what Robert Frost said 🙂

Oh, I do love your yellow post today. 🙂 I have no rose buds either, and the peonies are loaded but can’t seem to move forward. 🙂

Same with my hundreds of day lilies. They are well grown, as tall as me … but I don’t see buds or a hint of flowers. Just LOTS of green.

Yes. A yellow Rolls. I wonder how much THAT would cost in insurance!

Yellow is always a good bright colour on a photo, no matter how old the photos are. Just saying, I have a bed of irises which flower every year and this year I only have one flower, the rest just remained leaves – strange.

It’s the weather. Cold and wet. I still don’t have any buds on the roses or any flowers on the day lilies.

I think that’s why our earliest flowers are yellow. To revive us after a winter full of snow!

After a crazy snow winter and very wet spring (so unusual for Utah), May was one of the driest on record. It’s been really nice. 🙂 I hope you have as lovely a weekend as your flower pictures. Thanks for joining the challenge!

We had a couple of hours of sun this morning, but it’s gray again. Thunder showers later? Or just gray?
