The Second Coming” is a poem written by Irish poet W. B. Yeats in 1919, first printed in The Dial in November 1920, and afterwards included in his 1921 collection of verses Michael Robartes and the Dancer.

    yep. A few years back I posted this on my blog, and was bemused at how apropos it was then. Yeats, before he went totallyh political, wrote some of the most lyrical poetry out there, and this, every time I read it, strikes me as eerily accurate, even 100 years later.
