WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge: CORNER
At my old family home on Long Island in New York, I found myself rediscovering the place I grew up … literally, the corner where the house stands.
This is my childhood corner of the world. This is my street, intersection, corner. The place I grew up. The house is closing and soon, it will be a memory. It has been more than 40 years since I lived here, but nostalgia lingers.

We always remember the home of our childhood. What a strange memory trip it must have been for you.

Evelyne, it’s bittersweet. As we cleaned out 60 years of stuff, my brothers and I shared laughter and few tears.

I’m sure you do. I get that when I’m in France.

Did you play hide and seek with your friends there, Garry?

Leslie, deed I did. This is just an appetizer piece. More to come.

I grew up in a neighbourhood like that and I can remember we would play hide and seek in the summer evenings until we were called in by our mothers. It was a lot of fun.

Leslie, sounds familiar. “Mr. Softee” drove by last week while I was at the old house. brought back a brace of memories. As I kid, I’d race out, change in my hand and get a ‘banana boat’ from Mr. Softee. These days ,the banana boat would do me in.
