1. No wild cactus in Switzerland, only cultivated versions. Have a schlumbergia like yours. It has been growing outside during summer, lots of new leaves, so am hoping for flower for Christmas.


  2. The scariest of all are the round ones like the yellow one — they propagate by producing little versions of themselves which then blow around the countryside till they come to a block of some sort. You don’t want to be wearing sandals around them — or to sit on them! Love the saguaros!
