Squared off tunnel in Gettysburg

Squaring the Circle with Squared Squares

  1. I took a l.5 hour walk on the beach taking photos constantly… almost 300 in all and looking for the circle/square combination. I was so excited to get home and look at them, only to find there was no memory card in the camera!!! I’d checked the battery but for some reason in all those photos never saw any warning that there was no memory card. Grrrrr.

    1. Been there. Done that. My newer cameras warn me that there’s no card in the camera, but the older ones would happily snap away and only when I got home would I realize — the card was still in the computer. Grrrr.

Because I forget everything pretty much immediately, I try to be really religious about PUTTING THE CARD BACK IN THE CAMERA as soon as I’m done downloading. Which doesn’t mean I don’t forget, but I forget less often. And the cameras remind me and won’t take pictures without a card.

      1. Mine can take 20 shots without a card and they are accessible so i know at 20. However the best thing is that it rarely happens these days as the card never comes out. Photos transferred by cable or wifi. Phew!

        1. I know there is some small amount of inherent memory in the camera, but it doesn’t seem to be enough for even a single picture. Maybe it depends on the size of the camera. I use 4/3 Olympus cameras and a few smaller cameras for traveling.

        1. We started in Massachusetts. Stopped in Maryland to visit a cousin, then down to Gettysburg for a couple of days. Finally, to old Williamsburg and that huge amusement park down there. It was a good vacation.

    1. It is a great stopping place. I like tourist towns. They are designed for visitors. There are plenty of places to stay, eat, and buy things if you like … as well as activities and places to visit. We’ve done plenty of “wild” places too, but it’s nice to be someplace where they are really glad to see you and your credit card!
